It may be an especially loud May Long weekend for those living near Saratoga Speedway.
For fans, the racket will be music to their ears.
The racetrack will be busy with the US-based “Malicious Monster Truck World Tour” from May 19th-21st.
Speedways general manager Pat Monseigneur says they’re here to “make some noise.”
He told My Comox Valley Now that the event is becoming a staple for May Long Weekend.
“These folks were here with us last year, they’re coming back this year, and they’ve already told us they are coming back here next year,” said Monseigneur.
“This is a pretty high-end group of individuals with some really impressive equipment.”
The trucks often show off in an indoor arena, so the tracks will give them a whole lot of extra space to have fun with.
Friday afternoon will be a “fan fest,” and attendees will get the chance to take a joy ride.
“You can get up and close to your favourite trucks, look around during fan fest, and actually go for a ride on a monster truck,” said Monseigneur.
Other weekend highlights include an FMX global aerobatics show and all the racing you could wish for.
Fans can buy tickets online on the Saratoga Speedway website, with seniors, veterans and youth pricing at the box office. For those not looking forward to the event with such revelry – it might be time for some earmuffs.
